Congresses

The Society meets at least once annually in a combined business and scientific session: the Annual Business Meeting and the Scientific Meeting. There is also a social programme in which participants can take part.
The Annual Congress is held in the autumn (September or October) and lasts between 3 and 5 days.The venues and dates of the SIOP Annual Congress will be determined by the Council of the Society.

  

The SIOP Annual Congress

The Scientific Meeting

The scientific meeting is open to all members. Papers may be presented by members of the Society and by non-members, if sponsored by an Ordinary Member of the Society. Nurse members may sponsor nursing abstracts.

Scientific Meeting Format

The scientific programme comprises as fixed parts:
 
  • Plenary sessions
  • Guest lectures
  • Committee/group sessions
  • Meet the expert sessions
  • Free and proffered paper sessions

 

The Board may call for additional scientific and educational and other special meetings including or in co-sponsorship with other organisations, public or private, in such manner and format as they deem appropriate to the pursuit and advancement of the purposes of the Society.
